on being a grownup.

Today I had a meltdown. Not a full on, kicking, screaming, crying meltdown, because I think sometimes I lack those kinds of feelings, but there might have been a tear or two — the Alexa version of a meltdown.

This meltdown was due to the fact that I am a grownup. Typing that, I just realized a grownup having a toddler-style meltdown sounds a little oxymoronish, but what can you do. Today I had to figure out a medical bill, renew my car registration, and get some car repairs done. If you're looking for a way to drain your bank account in a period of 3 hours, I am now the queen of doing that. And it's hard, and it hurts. Nothing leaves you feeling more vulnerable than having a few dollars to your name!

But I guess the only thing that makes me feel okay about it is that we all go through stuff like this, right? Please tell me yes.

Peter Pan might have known what he was doing.

Over and out.

  1. Um yes yes yes!! You are not alone. I can't tell you how many times this has happened even since getting married! I need to know when people start "having it together", because I'm really ready for that haha.
